Half of Danish Cancer Patients Face Mental Illness

A new study in Denmark tracked almost 300,000 cancer patients. It found that half of them get mental health issues like depression or anxiety within 25 years after diagnosis.

The risk is highest in the first year after diagnosis. During this time, patients are five times more likely to get a mental health condition.
